
This is the most common clay found all around in the region. Some from the coast, straight from the cliffside, full of salts (solubles), that makes it ok for glazes but bad for vessels (earthenware).
Found some of the same more inland, with way less salts if any, that work for proper earthenware vessels.
Was harvested at Ballantyne’s Cove, literally from the red cliffs by the water.
